Quite often the simple things can get forgotten whilst moving home, here is a handy utilities and services provider reminder of whom you should inform you are moving.
Take gas meter Reading

Take water meter reading
Inform the below of your change of address.
Bank, Rental companies, Accountant, Credit Card, Doctor, Dentist, Employer, Innsurance companies, Redirect Mail at PO, Local authority, Inland revenue, Milkman, Newsagent, Pension companies, satelite or cable TV, DHSS, National insurance, Car insurers, DVLA, Opticians, TV Licensing, Telephone companies, Benefits offices, Solicitors, Electric, Gas, Schools.
For the actual move, here are some more handy hints and tips with regards to packing.
Divan Beds, drawers should be emptied.
Chest of drawers, drawers can be filled with soft and light items.
Wardrobes, we can provide wardrobe boxes for items that are normally hung.
Lamp Shades, should be packed in snug fitting boxes to prevent damage.
Plants, please let us know of any large plants, please note that plants are not covered by insurance.
Fragile items, should be individually wrapped and packed seperately.
Freezers and Fridges, please empty and defrost to prevent mould.
Washing machines, should be disconnected and emptied.
Boxes, it is preferable to try and purchase your main bulk of boxes the same size as they will stack easier and save space.
Boxes 2, should be taped strongly on top and bottom, always try to fill boxes incase of collapse when stacking.
Boxes 3, fragile items are better filled in between soft items ie: linen, towels etc.
Boxes 4, it is prudent to mark your boxes clearly which room you would like your boxes to be placed in your new home, this saves you having to open them to see whats inside.
